We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Compliance Officer (Trusted Research) to join the University’s Research and Innovation (R&I) Service.
The post holder will provide support and guidance to the Compliance and Integrity Manager in identifying and mitigating risks related to international collaboration in line with UK legislation and funder requirements, specifically around Trusted Research. A key aspect of the role will be to help embed a culture of Trusted Research and good research practice within the University.
You will provide expert advice and guidance to the University community, keeping up to date with changes to external regulatory requirements and implementing changes as necessary. You will ensure that the University is compliant with external standards and codes of practice, including the Concordat to Support Research Integrity.
Experience of working in a similar role at a UK university is required, as is having knowledge and experience of monitoring policies and implementing them within a work setting. You will have excellent communication skills and an awareness of the key challenges in the higher education sector relating to trusted research.
A strong understanding of export licensing regulations and compliance with Trusted Research requirements is essential.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties). Up to two days per week can be worked from home, following successful completion of the induction period which is office-based.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Impact Officer to join our team.
Working across Research and Innovation, you will play a university-wide, pivotal role in offering a professional level of expertise, advice, and dedicated support to our academic community.
As Impact Officer, you will have the responsibility of maximising the impact of research across the University, ensuring that the benefits of our research, on people, society, the economy, and the environment are effectively demonstrated and communicated, both within the University and externally.
Working with the Impact and Culture Manager, you will take a lead and active approach in developing and maintaining positive relationships with researchers across our university, and support them in identifying impact arising from their research and ensuring evidence is captured and stored appropriately, including managing the collection, curation, and submission of evidence for the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
Educated to degree level or with an extensive track record of relevant work experience in a similar role and holding two A-levels or equivalent or higher, you will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and related software packages, have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, together with experience of working collaboratively across a large, complex organisation.
