The University of Sheffield is seeking to appoint an exceptional Head of Compliance, Governance and Risk to lead strategic compliance and quality assurance across our diverse and complex estate, which spans over 500,000m. Reporting to the Associate Director of Engineering & Maintenance, you will provide strategic direction and senior leadership to maintenance and project teams, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory obligations.

You will have extensive experience in compliance, governance, and risk management within a complex estate environment, strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to inspire teams and influence at senior levels. A strategic and analytical mindset, capable of driving continuous improvement, change and operational excellence, is essential.

Job description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Academic Programmes Office in two new posts focused on ensuring that the policies, systems and processes underpinning assessment and progression activities are efficient and effective.
Reporting to the Assessment and Progression Manager, the postholders will contribute to key assessment initiatives designed to assure the quality of assessment practices across the University and improve the student and staff experience. This will include the review of the University’s policies and regulations relating to assessment and progression, analysis of current position and best practice within the sector, and development of processes, support and guidance.
We are looking for experience of working with regulations, policies and processes, confidence in managing and manipulating data and effective communication skills, with ability to present complex information in a clear and accessible format to a wide group of stakeholders. The Role
The Placement Delivery Officer role forms part of the placement leadership team initially overseeing the delivery of placement activities within the Health and Social Care Placements Team and supporting wider placement activity across the University.
You will work closely with Academic leadership within the School of Health and Social Care to lead a team on sourcing high-quality placement opportunities for all phases of our health provision across the region. You’ll also support compliance activity for student onboarding, as well as placement providers, to ensure quality of learning and safety of our students.
The Team
The Health and Social Care Placements Team supports the delivery of over 23,000 placements each year across the NHS and the Private, Independent and Voluntary Sectors.
It consists of Placement Delivery Officers and Placement coordinators that work with hundreds of health and social care placement providers across the South Yorkshire region and beyond, to train the next generation of qualified clinicians across our professionally accredited courses.
