Many authors choose to self-publish—whether that be because they want to go it alone or because they don't want to deal with the red tape of traditional publishing. And yes, with enough research and time and dedication, authors can absolutely publish a book themselves. But not every author wants to be a publisher and a managing editor and a book designer and a marketer. Not every author wants to source a credible editor and cover designer. Some authors just want a book that they can be proud of.
That's where Contrarian comes in.
Contrarian is a self-publisher that looks for stories with a deeper message. We want our books to help readers at critical times in their lives, whether it be through deep introspection or through comfort and escapism. The books we look for are the kind of unputdownable that will keep you thinking and yearning for more long after you turn off the bedside lamp at 3 a.m. and lay back on your pillow.
