The Green Climate Fund (GCF), the world’s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund, is hiring an Intern for the Office of Governance Affairs (OGA). The position is based at the GCF Headquarters in Incheon, South Korea.

Established by 194 countries under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the GCF funds transformative climate projects across the developing world. This internship offers a rare opportunity to gain insight into the inner operations of a massive international organization, specifically focusing on Board Governance and high-level meeting logistics.


Key Responsibilities

The intern will provide operational and administrative support to the OGA Director. This is a hands-on role involving the coordination of high-stakes Board meetings.

1. Board Meeting & Event Coordination

  • Logistics: Coordinate overall logistics for GCF Board meetings, technical sessions, and events.
  • Access Control: Manage access to virtual and in-person meetings, ensuring protocol is followed.
  • Suppliers: Contact suppliers, set up venues, and organize logistical aspects for team activities.

2. Operational & Administrative Support

  • Documentation: Manage and organize electronic and physical documentation/filing systems.
  • Management: Assist the OGA Director with daily operational tasks.

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

GCF is looking for candidates with a strong academic background and an interest in international operations.

1. Academic Status (Strict)

  • Enrollment: You must be currently enrolled in a Master’s program.
  • Fields: Business, Finance, Climate Change, Sustainability, or related fields.

2. Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge: Experience with investments, financial institutions, or climate change issues is highly valued.
  • Software: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
  • Language: Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of Korean is an added advantage.

Stipend & Benefits

This is a well-paid international internship.

  • Stipend: $1,600 USD per month (Gross).
