The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office (UNRCO) in the Philippines is seeking a motivated Intern to join their dynamic team in Manila. The Resident Coordinator represents the UN Secretary-General in the country and leads the UN Country Team.

This is a strategic role focused on data analysis, development finance, and partnerships. If you have a background in Data Science, Statistics, or International Relations and want to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Philippines, this is the perfect platform.

Duties and Responsibilities

The intern will work under the supervision of the RCO Senior Economist and Head of Office. Key responsibilities include:

1. Partnership & Data Analysis

  • Stakeholder Mapping: Analyze key stakeholders including government, donors, private sector, and youth.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare financial analyses and donor profiles to support resource mobilization for the 2024-2028 Cooperation Framework.
  • Digital Tools: Leverage dashboards and digital tools to track development priorities.

2. Coordination Support

  • Events: Organize partnership platforms, workshops, and learning visits.
  • Documentation: Draft minutes, summaries, and follow-up action points from high-level meetings.

3. Knowledge Management

  • Prepare briefing notes and background papers on partnership trends.
  • Maintain the UN Philippines SharePoint repository.
  • Disseminate case studies on successful finance initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

This position has specific citizenship and academic requirements.

1. Citizenship (Strict)

  • You must be a Filipino Citizen to apply.

2. Academic Status

  • Graduate Student: Enrolled in (or completed) a Master’s or PhD programme.
  • Undergraduate Student: Enrolled in (or completed) the final academic year of a Bachelor’s degree programme.

3. Preferred Fields of Study

  • Statistics, Data Science, Public Administration, Diplomacy, International Relations, Development Studies, or related fields.

4. Skills & Language

  • Languages: Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Filipino.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Logistics & Work Mode

  • Work Mode: This is an In-Person engagement based in Mandaluyong City. (Remote work is only considered on an exceptional basis).
  • Schedule: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
  • Financials: This is an UNPAID internship. All costs (travel, living expenses) are borne by the intern.
