The World Press Institute (WPI) has opened applications for its prestigious 2026 Journalism Fellowship. This is a fully funded opportunity for experienced international journalists to spend nine weeks in the United States, exploring the country's media landscape, politics, and culture.

Selected fellows will travel across the US, starting from the Twin Cities (Minneapolis & St. Paul). The program covers all major expenses, including roundtrip airfare, accommodation, and a daily allowance. Eligibility Criteria

This program is for mid-career professionals, not beginners. To qualify, you must meet the following strict requirements:

• Experience: You must have 5 or more years of full-time journalism experience (Print, Broadcast, or Online).
• Employment: You must be currently employed as a journalist outside the United States.
• Role: Reporters, editors, photojournalists, producers, and columnists are eligible. (PR professionals are not eligible).
• Language: Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory.
• Leadership: You should demonstrate strong leadership potential.

Work Sample Requirements

Your application must include samples of your work. These must be publicly accessible (online links preferred). Print/Online: 3 samples of published work with your byline. Broadcast: Links to video/audio (max 15 minutes). Photojournalists: A portfolio with 5 published samples. Note: If your work is not in English, you must include an English summary.
