Internship Overview & Key Details

Role Responsibilities: What Will You Do?

As an AI Agent Intern, you will be building the next generation of intelligent automation. You will work with frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Building AI Agents: You will design and develop AI agents using OpenAI APIs and LangChain.
• Prompt Engineering: You will craft and refine prompts for complex tasks like summarization and decision support.
• RAG Pipelines: You will implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) using vector databases like ChromaDB or Pinecone to make AI smarter.
• API Integration: You will develop REST APIs using FastAPI or Flask to allow these AI agents to interact with other systems.
• Evaluation: You will detect "hallucinations" in AI outputs and implement fixes to improve accuracy.

Eligibility and Mandatory Requirements

Ciena is looking for candidates with advanced academic backgrounds in AI. This role is not for beginners. To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:

Mandatory Qualifications

• Education: You must be currently working towards a Masters or PhD in an AI-related field.
• Python Skills: Strong proficiency in Python is required, specifically for developing AI agents.
• Tech Stack: You need familiarity with LLM APIs, vector databases (Pinecone, ChromaDB), and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Backend Knowledge: Basic knowledge of REST API development (FastAPI/Flask) is essential.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Autogen.
• Knowledge of Knowledge Graphs (Neo4j) or semantic search.
• Exposure to fine-tuning LLMs (LoRA, PEFT) is a big plus.
