Education Cannot Wait (ECW), the global fund hosted by UNICEF, is recruiting for its Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Internship Programme. This is a prestigious opportunity for post-graduate students and recent graduates to work with the first global multilateral fund dedicated to education in emergencies.
ECW is looking for five interns to join their team. While the role is officially based in Geneva/New York, remote work is expected to be the standard. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of up to USD 1,700. The deadline to apply is 19 December 2025.

Role Responsibilities: What Will You Do?
As an M&E Intern, you will support the ECW Secretariat in analyzing data from education programs in crisis-affected countries. Your core duties will include:
- Data Analysis: You will review, code, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data from annual reports to assess program outcomes.
- Report Drafting: You will contribute to the drafting of the 2025 Annual Results Report, performing data quality checks and synthesizing information.
- Knowledge Management: You will help manage databases, conduct literature reviews, and support the rollout of new information management platforms.
- Learning Support: You will assist in organizing webinars and cross-country learning sessions to share best practices in education in emergencies.
Eligibility and Requirements
ECW is looking for candidates with strong analytical skills and a passion for humanitarian work. To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
Mandatory Qualifications
- Education: You must be enrolled in a Master’s degree program or have graduated with a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree within the last 3 years.
- Background: Academic background in Education, International Development, Humanitarian Aid, or Social Sciences is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel (Advanced), R, STATA, or Power Query is highly preferred.
- Language: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in French or Spanish is a plus.
- Experience: Lived experience in a low-to-middle-income country is an asset.
Benefits and Stipend
This is a paid internship. Stipend: Interns based in New York, Geneva, or Copenhagen receive USD 1,700 per month. For other locations, the stipend is calculated at 70% of the local GS Level 3 salary. Flexibility: The role is full-time (35 hours/week), but working hours are flexible (must overlap with Geneva CET hours).
