Program Scope: What Will You Do?
The fellowship allows you to focus entirely on your research without teaching obligations. Project State: Well-designed projects at any stage are welcome—from initial research to final revision for publication. Topic Flexibility: Research can cover any time period in China (including modern-day) and can be from any academic area within the humanities and social sciences. Publication: Fellows are encouraged to work on getting their research ready for publication and may submit their work to the Harvard University Asia Center publications program.
Eligibility Criteria
This fellowship is highly competitive and targets early-career scholars. To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:
- PhD Timeline: You must have received your PhD within the last five years.
- Residency: You must be willing to reside in the Cambridge/Boston area for the duration of the 1-year award.
